( But they still watch us) We have seen many mushrooms popping up all over town. We aren't sure if the mushrooms are poison, but we strictly advise all littlest pet shops, playmobil and humans to NOT EAT THE MUSHROOMS! Our best detective team is on the job, and have taken some photos for you to see.
It rained a LITTLE bit, and it was a little misty while running, but that is better than very hot weather, so I was happy. It was very well organized.
So how was the run?
It was harder, and when I ran I thought " Why on earth am I doing this? This is harder than I thought" But when I look back, I would totally do it AGAIN.
Were you first? No, I don't think I was even close, but I was doing this to FINISH, and ACCOMPLISH something. ( Also the 10K was a non competitive race) Now, I didn't really invite a lot of my friends to watch me because I kinda forgot, and also they would have to wake up VERY early. For me, I had to wake up at 5:00 AM. Was I really sleepy tired to do the run? Nope.
Also this was on Father's day! This felt like a very long day, which was really cool! 5:00 AM-9:10ish ( Hey, I was tired!) The morning was very long which was very cool, I just felt like it was an interesting day being long. There was a LOT of people in the run, it was also cool because there was places when people handed a small cup with some water in it, and it was funny because sometimes there was no garbage ( or I couldn't see a garbage while running) So at the water places there was all these white cups on the sides of the road.
What was your time? 58 minutes and 13 seconds. For me personal y and my personal time, this was the fastest I had ran on most of my runs, and I thought I had been VERY SLOW
This is a tutorial I did on my channel, so I thought I would also share it here! These apples are so fun to make, and I think they look soooo cute! ( Why didn't I say kawaii? Because I use kawaii for other types of cuteness, I chose not to for this one)
Here's something I thought I had to give up because of braces. Eating apples. When I was young I ate an apple EVERYDAY! I said it helped me sleep. But I heard you can't eat apples if you have braces. WHAT?!?! NO!?! But thankfully I CAN still eat apples, I just have to cut my apple into little pieces. Do you like apples? What is your favorite type of apple? Once I had REAL apple juice near my cousins house at a farm thing, and I will never forget that taste. Of amazingness, ( I know that isn't a word) Even though on the apple cartons sometimes they say " 100% real apple juice, No added sugar" it DOESN'T"T TASTE THE SAME!
I know this post was kinda weird, all about apples..........
Justin has a new episode of Justin's cooking show! In this episode he makes brownies. Here's something funny; This recipe I used was Esther's cake in a mug recipe. ( Not the recipe I mentioned in the video, but I made a recipe off camera to make enough to fit in the pan) Well, they didn't get baked enough ( Esther said they were fine and not too soft) but I thought they were WAY TO SOFT and uncooked. Also, they tasted sooo gross. They were so dark, I didn't eat a lot of it.....I gave it to mom.......

But now lets get to the main part of this post. Why haven't I been blogging regularly? Well, I'm just going to be honest. I've been making time for other things, and because I'm trying to finish up school, train for a 10K, still craft, doing Gymnastics and starting renovations on the house I've really not thought a lot about blogging.
But I do think of you, and I miss you! I miss blogging, but also I've been trying to commit to other things like stretching every day ( PAINFUL I HATE MIDDLE SPLITS!). I am still here, and you will get some blog posts, but just not as often as you or I would like.
Eva, well, she gets groomed and then doesn't want to do anything after that but sleep.
Maybe I'll blog more, or maybe I won't BUT you'll still get posts once in a while.
It's no-longer a brown dead color, it's GREEN! I think summer/spring is here, but it's been raining a lot lately. We're getting April showers in May. But I'm thankful that we have rain not snow, or hail, and that we even get rain. Eva gets her paws dirty when it rains but thankfully mom washes her paws after taking her out so she doesn't get dirt everywhere. I'm happy the snow is no-longer here! Also, Eva rolled in a dead bird. We didn't know what she was rolling in, and she was in our front yard on a leash. Then later on when she was in the backyard, she rolled in the grass. Stinky dog!
* NOTE THIS WAS WRITTEN IN APRIL*
Last Thursday is was mom's birthday! Because she was working on our Passover evening, she wanted us to celebrate her birthday this week. We had a evening that we ate food that the Jewish people would eat during the Passover. I don't really want to explain much about what we ate, but it was very fun!! Esther was also performing in our church's Good Friday service. She did great! We still have some snow, but it's melting. Yesterday while jogging I knew that next time I might wear my shorts because I was so hot. I hope it's getting warm near you.
Yes, Justin has a special episode on his show, but I didn't make anything really 'green'. But Easter is different, and mom has a plan of cool foods we are going to make! Yesterday I made paska bread with some help from mom. She made the lemon icing on the bread. What is paska bread, and what makes it different from normal bread? paska bread is a sweetish bread with lemon. This is a Mennonite recipe, and a Mennonite Easter tradition. You and make it into buns ( which we did) or a loaf ( which we also did). What makes this special is that it rises like CRAZY!!! This is suppose to help us remember how Jesus rose from the dead. Also you get to eat it with icing.
Here is a picture of the buns :
HMMM, SOO good!
Bread is something that for me sounds hard to make, but it isn't! My only tip for making this bread is to half the baking time, because they would have burned if I would have left them in longer.
I wasn't very good at it, and couldn't run for a long time. This year I'm a little better, so I decided to do something crazy. REALLY CRAZY. There is this 20K walk every year to raise money for people with cancer, but you have to raise $1,000 each. AND, this is on the same day as my last day of gymnastics. I wouldn't have time. So, I looked up runs. The 2.6 mile run run would be to easy, but a 10K run, well, maybe? Dad has a friend who does the Boston marathon, and he gave me a running plan. I also got some real running shoes, the shoe place even has a treadmill to run on to make sure your show fits! This is going to be crazy, and the training plan is a 8 week plan. When I walk the dog it is a little difficult, because besides our part of the sidewalk everything else is ice. So when I walk Eva I have to walk in a special way so I won't slip. Maybe, I should just get out my ice skates and start skating on our sidewalk! But on Sunday when I woke up I did hear the birds, so that was nice. Even though we still have snow, it is "spring". I am still grooming Eva everyday, but sometimes she doesn't cooperate....
What did I do? I got some lovely valentines from my grandparents, and one of our neighbors. At my speech class I brought a desert, but I forgot to take a picture, and in less then five minuets ALL the dessert was gone. It was over three dozen, for twelve people!! And there was also cookies!! I guess my desert was really good. We also handed out valentines. At home I made mom and dad valentines and gave them to them, and we had a valentines day themed supper. Then I went to work and filmed a video to show my family how scary my work place is. Because Esther is so busy, Eva also hasn't been groomed and her teeth haven't been brushed for a LONG time. So, Esther found this TV show called " The Dog Whisperer" and it has some great tips! We have been able to walk Eva WAY better. She now walks behind us, or at our heel. But what about the grooming? I knew I had to help, or else we would have to get rid of Eva! So, everyday, I groom Eva and brush her teeth. So in the morning when the sun is shining through the window, I lie on the couch and get a lovely tan. So I went to our backyard with Eva. She likes running around the whole yard, and I like jumping off our big hill. OK, it's not that big, more like a patch of snow. When I was still watching Eva be cute, she ran to the door walking with one of her front paws up. ( So she was limping) She was too cold, don't worry, her paw was fine when she came inside. Today I have a clay tutorial, for my YouTube channel. To make this you'll need some type of clay, and the video shows the rest. I've also been doing other crafts, and found a cool technique with sand to make clay chicken burgers look more "covered" and fried with the bread crumbs or what ever they fry on chicken! ~ Abby ca.K.eEsther http://www.blogger.com/profile/00411997694447478989noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-305598335721671218.post-59787620260444608122014-01-08T09:01:00.000-06:002014-01-08T09:01:10.593-06:00This post will be about me complaining about the weatherI told myself I shouldn't do this. Telling you how cold it is over here, and how no one wants to take Eva out. Thankfully we have a back yard, and when it's too cold to give her a walk, we just let her in our backyard. Eva likes stealing my glove, and " Killing" it. Poor glove! Also, we said we would give Eva a " Christmas" bath, because she needed one, but that never happened, and still hasn't happened. Even though it's cold outside, I am thankful I have a warm house and a dog to hug when I'm cold. I don't know how anyone could survive in this weather outside, I don't think I could live a day completely outside in this weather. So I guess you should be thankful for the house you have, and that you are in a place tonight! OH NO! Think about the poor lonely dogs in this cold weather.. Wait, please don't think about that, it's too sad!
WOW, 2013 went be so fast, it almost seems like it was yesterday when 2013 came along. I remember 2012. It was the year we went to Disney Land with our Grandparents and family. It was the year when I might have done my last musical with CUC. What about 2013?
In the summer I got braces, and before braces I went to my gymnastics summer camp. I had such a great year last year, and the year before, and the year before.
I remember the year we got Eva, that was a great year. Sometimes we wish we could repeat something in the past, or try to undo something that happened. I've learned that life goes by so quickly, and I know people try to grow up so fast, and then wish they hadn't.
I don't know what things I'll do this year that I will remember the next, but remember each day is special, and you won't ever have January 7th 2014 again.
We went to see our Grandparents, my Aunt, and my other Aunt and Uncle, and my two cousins, in Alberta. I didn't want to say the city we stayed at, but it's not Calgary, neither Edmonton. So it is a smaller place, a beautiful wonderful place
. The place where I live, is sooo cold, and the driving weather was so bad, that for a couple of hours we couldn't see three feet in front of us because of the snow, and there was crazy wind.
When we stopped in Moose Jaw, we stayed at this beautiful bed and breakfast. Dad and I went to see the tunnels of Moose Jaw, and we went on the one about Al Capone ( I've been on it before) Because it was their last tour of the day, dad and I were the only people on the tour!
It was soo fun. You see, this isn't just a bla bla tour .. this is a gun they used back then, Al Capone was a bad guy who had a scar on his left cheek, this is bla blba bla... These tours take you back in time, and they have real actors in the tour, and everything is timed, so we have to move at a special time. After the amazing tour, we went to a fancy restaurant that dad and mom used to go to when they lived in Moose Jaw. The food was amazing, and we had a great time.
When we got to our Grandparents, we did lots of fun stuff. We did Christmas, and a Christmas dinner, and I loved everything I got, and I hope everyone liked what I made them. When we went swimming I went off the high high board for the first time, and dad said I did it in perfect form!
Then my uncle, dad and two cousins and I did a contest of who could hold their breath under water the longest. I beat my two cousins, my dad AND my uncle! I can hold my breath for one minute and forty seconds. That doesn't seem THAT long, but it is very hard, and you have to concentrate a lot on holding your breath.
I had a great time, and it was wonderful to see my family again.
A real one? A fake one with snow? A big fat one? Or one of those " Perfect" Christmas trees? OR, do you not even have a tree?
We once had a big tree, and almost every year we would put it in my room! But one year on boxing day, mom and dad decided we should get a smaller tree. There was a small tree on sale, so we got it. I am taller than this tree! Why did we get a smaller tree? Because we wanted more place for other things.
Even though I miss our big tree, we don't really NEED a big tree. Why do most people think Bigger is better? Some things are nice small, but I have nothing against having a big fat tree, I love those!
I think the miniature Christmas trees are sooo cute, I would be fine with a small SMALL tree. For me having a Christmas tree is just something fun to have during Christmas, but if you don't have a tree, that won't stop you from celebrating the true meaning of Christmas.
A lick on the left cheek.
On the second day of lickmas my puppy gave to me two kawaii sneezes,
and a lick on the left cheek.
On the third day of lickmas my puppy gave to me, three french breads, two kawaii sneezes
and a lick on the left cheek.
Oh, yes, I could go on and on, and yes, I DID make this song up. Have you ever heard the twelve days of Christmas song? Just yesterday when we were at this cool place(crock a doodle) where you make your own pottery, and we were making a birthday present with our friend because it was her birthday, we heard the twelve days of Christmas song, a little different.
We couldn't hear all of the lyrics, but two of them were " Five golden tukes* and " And a beer" in a tree". I think you will all like the puppy version better!
Eva likes her song, and I sing it to her.
